take sound from silence
hold it to your ear
let it soothe the hurt
burning in your blood
you have need for calm
and understanding
an urge to exist
in a quiet place
feel hope inside to
hold you through today
you have everything
which is worth having

The grasshopper has many meanings and representations (important news received on the grapevine, fertility or a symbol of abundance, the unbeliever; symbolizing the conversion of pagan nations to Christianity, in dreams; complexity and restlessness) the list is endless. But to me the grasshopper represents a moment of peace in a turbulent world. Its song has the rhythm of calm, almost forgotten but not quite lost.
